Advances in AAL: from research to industrial development
Objectives: The goal of the 10th IEEE/ASME MESA14, is to bring together experts from the different fields of mechatronic and embedded systems, disseminate the recent advances made in the area, discuss future research directions and exchange application experience. This Symposium on Mechatronics for Ambient Assisted Living has the purpose of fostering and promoting solutions and services specifically designed for the elderly in order to enhance their everyday life in different environments and contexts and using different types of interaction with users. The symposium will be an opportunity to share common vision and objectives and to enhance internal cooperation among the participants.
Topics of interest include:
- · ICT platforms for the benefit of the elderly
- · Home automation and control technologies
- · Smart objects and smart environments
- · Novel sensors
- · Microelectronics and microsystems for AAL
- · Mobility aids for locomotion or navigation
- · Assistive technologies to support daily activities
- · Telemedicine & Remote assistance
- · Multi-modal human-machine interfaces
- · Design of interfaces & interaction for all
- · Activity monitoring systems/activity recognition
- · Human behavioural modelling
- · Implementation and integration of advanced Robotic systems and Intelligent Environments in real scenarios for the ageing population
- · Combining social interaction and long term monitoring for promoting independent living
- · Support of Ambient Intelligence (AmI) infrastructure
- · Human-robot interaction
- · Mobility, participation and social inclusion
